«The gaze» is how an audience views the people presented.
The objectification of women from a masculine, heterosexual perspective on a collective scale, in media, art, literature, politics, and in every aspect of daily life is holding women’s freedom captured. The way women are viewed, sexualised and treated accordingly needs to stop. In the meantime while this change is fought for and realized, we could all need protection from the gaze.
